Progress on Buster Gundam!

I was able to use my airbrush today for the first time in a week, and I must say I am happy with the results!
It is hard to tell in the pic, but the original color was orange and on the Gundam it looks dark red. I also sprayed some of the inner frame with Gunmetal prior this week. But forgot to take pictures of it. But here are some pics of what I have done so far.
Painted frame.

Back Leg Booster
Arm, minus the shoulder

I love the way the armor separates. did some panel lining.

I cracked the piece bellow the red knee cover *tear tear* So I used super glue

A better pic of the red knee.

I am doing half of the half of Buster with armor on so you can see just how much the armor adds to the look.
All that is left for me to paint is the green armor pieces. For that I will need to prime them because I am going a lighter shade of green. What do you guys think so far?

***Update
I added the shoulder frame on, and on one I added the missiles. I painted them chrome, sorry if the refection is bad. I even added some the skirt pieces minus the red because I want to add one more layer  on those ones just for same measure.

Great Day!

Yesterday was kind of a bummer of a day. It was a really nice day, weather wise, and I kept thinking "Hmmm great, I can finally airbrush but I a will stuck in class today". On top of that I had a huge headache all day so all i did once I got home was go to sleep and then wake  up to watch "The Americans", which for the pilot episode, was pretty damn good. Definitely worth checking out..
Which brings us to today... my only class was canceled and the weather is still good :D which means I will probably be airbrush and then uploading of my model soon after.

Veiwers Entrees

I was thinking it would be cool to see some other peoples model designs. Does not have to be Gunpla! Could be anything that requires construction or painting! Just like to see what other people and maybe get some tips so I can apply it on my own stuff! Who knows maybe I will have a tip myself =P

A new blogger here!

Hello all, I am Egw333, or Egg-whites333. I am a gamer and don't really have a life, so I am going to help my good friend with some gaming blogs. I will keep this short and sweet. I love FPS games along with RPG's, and enjoy myself a good indie game. My super nerdy side loves Role playing on a Minecraft server called Lord Of The Craft, and last but not least I run a Gaming website called Today In Gaming.

1/100 HG Red Frame Astray

Two Years ago, I do not know why, but I had a sudden urge to build something. Like a kid playing with Lego's, I just wanted something to build and enjoy. Then after going though my closet I saw an old Gundam Model, that was broken, and knew that is what I wanted to build. So I went online and literally mauled over which one to get for hours, maybe even days since I did have that much money to spare on something I had no experience with. After reading a bunch of reviews and settling on a good price I picked up the 1/100 HG Red Frame Astray.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgICAO4hXUxV0uZTGjNhG3tr8cT0amBQyvgq8GbDLHNSiX3A1mrDTI5BT0GteJS_hDCB3gWSUWK4evNZMaxjSSDckonQJVJ3_UwTYjP8266VBgjHKNLhCv7hdVozJ6o-NrARwAKEjqst7c/s320/1.astray+red+frame+box+and+guide+book.jpg
The box was simple but nice, the red just seemed to ooze coolness. I do not have pics of all the parts, but I took my time with the assembly. Since it was my first model I took about a day maybe two tops, going at a slow pace, making sure I had everything correct. All of the parts were easy to assemble and it was really cool to see how the all fitted together to make something that was very articulate and bad-ass.  I was happy when it was all done and took some poses. But since there was I was still a novice I had no concept of Panel Lining and bringing out the poses that would make the model awesome. The coolest part of this model though is Gerbra Straight Sword. It is not often that you get to see a Mobile Suit with a sword that is not made of energy. The only gripe I would have about this model is the V-Fin as it just seems too fat and wide with the whole gundam being slick. Anyways here are some pics of my first model build. Remember that it was two years ago and I was still a noob =P

The Body in the building processes
Ready to dual. Notice though no Panel lines and very plain looking.

I love this pose just wished I had actually had a good background.

Another cool pose needing a proper background and pic setup =/

My sister's plaster penguin she sculpted xD Idk why I did that

Dual Wielding

The Pose it is in now. I just seem to like this one... and yes that is a pirate pistol.
Thoughts and comments are always welcomed!

Long Night Up Ahead

Tonight is the first night in a long time (like years) that I am needing coffee. In fact, I cannot remember the last time I had drank the caffeinated substance. This view will likely be my view for the next couple of hours and it is all thanks to a bogus assignment from my Chicano Lit. class. Anyone else ever pull an all nighter for school?

Sorry for the flash reflection. =/
*After drinking the coffee it feels weird because I had just given up caffeine and had gone two months without Sodas and the such.
** El Oh El... It felt like it was 11:00 P.M when in fact it was only 9:00...  I feel stupid. That being said the coffee is having a weird effect on me. I think my body is starting to crave more caffeine o.O Idk what to do? Detox?

Sweet Sexy Redness
The Sinanju Stein is the prototype to the famous Sinanju. Comparing it to the Sinanju, it looks very vanilla and boring.  But it is strangely awesome to me. I do not see something dull but something that is a clean slate that is open to tons of customization and painting. Plus the beam rifle looks awesome. Some things I have been noticing on some close of pics of the Stein is that it looks to be shipping with the Nu Gundam Ver Ka hands, or PG Model Hands. Which is awesome. For those who have not seen those type of hands, the fingers are all individual and have three points of articulation. They are so much cooler then the average hand and have a two peg system. The weapon has a top peg and the hand has a bottom beg so when you put the weapon in the hand the pegs slides in both hand and weapon, and it stays in there. I have not had too much trouble getting the weapons out so I think this is a really cool idea, specially considering Steins gun seems to be large and maybe a little heavy. The Sinanju Stein will be released later in February, and I will probably be picking this one up. What do you think?

Ishida to Asakura

Ishida to Asakura is new short anime about the life of two high school friends and their daily life at school interacting with others. Each episode is around 2-4 minutes, but let me say it has been a long time since I have laughed so hard at an anime. It is so stupid and bizarre, much like that average make teenager life. I have yet to read the manga and see how it compares. But for people wanting a quick laugh this anime is really a must see. The short length is a bummer but it means that the humor doesn't wear on the person so it is all good!

Sister's Soccer Game

Today, after my classes, I zipped over to see my sister play soccer for her high school. Normally I try not get heated in a family members sports event, because I never wanted to be that parent.
But at this particular game I found myself yelling at the ref and actually engaging in it. Which is rare, but not unheard of. My sister and her teammates were actually playing really well, she even managed to pull off two of three back-heels successfully and set up a couple of attacking opportunities, which is goo for a Right Back. For those who do not know a Right Back is a player who plays on defense on the right side of the field, and is tasked to attack and defend at the same time. The fist goal of the game was an unfair penalty for the other team.  The opposing girl had been tackled, clean fully, but lost the ball in the challenge to our team. But the ref gave them a plenty when it was not and was on the outside of the box. But my sisters team pulled one back in an awesome fashion, shooting from a tight angle and swerving in. They had a chance to be up 3-1 when one free kick missed the top corner by inches and another rocketed off the cross bar. Even after that they lacked the killer instinct to finish it off with many other poacher like goals but eh. Then with a few minutes to spare the other team popped a ball over the goalie and it floated in. Gah I was so mad. It seemed they could not catch a break. But it was all good cause my sister played a good game and got over it over dinner. By I now think I will going to her games more often as they are quiet fun to watch. Just have to remember to keep calm =P

Model Building Haulted

I have been airbrushing my current gundam model, Buster Gundam, and hit a snag. The weather where I live is bit of a mess. Some days it perfect for painting then some days it feels like I have frost bite. With the air being heavily filled with moisture, the paint does not dry properly. It does not help that I airbrush in my garage but ah well, that's life. I don't have much experience anyways so maybe it is good I don't run through paint too quickly just start over on a bad paint job.
So it seems I will have to wait a few days, maybe even next week, to build and paint. On a positive note, least I get to see George Strait on Friday =)

Stop by and say HELLO!

If you are interested in any of this stuff say hello in comments and tell me something about yourself! It does not have to be about the nerdy stuff that is on here it can be anything! =D
If you want to remain Anonymoose then that is cool just scroll down to it!

Things about me

Favorite Mobile Suits
Sinanju in all his Red glory
  • Nu Gundam
  • Sazabi
  • Sinanju
  • Red Frame Astray
  • Palace Athene
Favorite Anime
  • Maoyu
  • Trigun
  • Rurouni Kenshin
  • Kotora Chan
  • Blast of Tempest
These are my top five in no order. On the anime those are the first that came to my mind with three of them being new and two being vintage gold. I usually like all of the Gundam series, except Seed. I love the Astray design but hate the anime. I just cannot pick out why. Even though a lot of people seem to love it I just never cared for it. 00 is my second least favorite only because I just never was able to keep to it.

I have a lot of other interests aside from Gunpla and anime. I am an avid soccer/football lover and love baseball. I usually get up at 4:30 A.M when my team plays just to watch them. My favorite band is the Red Hot Chili Peppers. As of currently, I am attending college to become a High School English Teacher, and hope to get into international teaching.

Greetings!

Hello! My name is Josh and this is my blog for my favorite hobby. Gunpla! Or Gundam Modeling. I have been building regularly for the last two years. I would not call myself an avid modeler, only cause I don't have the cash to buy a model every time I crave one. Which is a lot. I will try to make understanding Gunpla easy foor all those who have no idea what it is!
I also like to watch anime and just like to chat to people about stuff! My life is primarily ruled by College, Girls, Gunpla, and anime. Somewhere in between there is life but eh who has time to for that nowadays.
Sorry, but I am new to blogging and this will be a touch and go process. I created this to meet other people who like the same things and would like to share my thoughts and models and see what people think!
